(no subject)

I'm sitting in a cafe, drinking tea and taking advantage of a free wireless connection. Man, I love Crouch End. I'm hoping that when I go home, there will be a shower in the bathroom and then my life will be complete.

I'm very chilled at the moment, as, after a bit of a hard-working July, I have many days off in August and lots of fun things to do with them. Cambridge fun this weekend, Yorkshire fun next week, France fun very soon, then the joy of the Film Festival.

Other things I like a lot at the moment, in no particular order:

- Heroes: I watched the whole first series in a big chunk and it is excellent. I want a superpower! Even if it's just a lame one, like the ability to have dishes washed in the blink of an eye.

- The free Penguin book offer:
I'm awaiting my copy of The Hitopadesa, a book I've never heard of, but am looking forward to trying.

- Green tea: Because it's yum.

- Beer Festivals: Specifically, beer festivals in Earls Court, which I was at yesterday with Rick and the SPimCLara unit. Drank lots of yummy cider in thirds and felt quite drunk by the end, even though we worked out that I'd only had 2 pints. As well as Beer Festival bingo (Man slumped in a corner? Check. Man with swollen ankles suggesting heart failure? Check. Unusual beer bellies? Check. Jesus eating a hamburger? Check.), there was guy watching and floor sitting. Very good afternoon.

- Days off work: self-explanatory really.
