Aug. 22nd, 2005 10:15 amI had a fantastic weekend visiting
jacquic and
ed_cetera. Their house in Swindon is lovely, as are the cats! It was a very relaxing time, despite my Saturday morning rush to the station. After looking at the house and helping with a few boxes, we drove off to Lacock, a picturesque village where they filmed the Pride and Prejudice mini-series, Emma, Moll Flanders and probably every other vaguely period TV series/film you can think of. There are a number of great pubs and shops there, the best being Quintessentially, a herbal place along the lines of Lush, but much better. I bought a face mask which I used last night and very nice it was too, even if my face was immobile for a while.
We were all exhausted on Saturday night - me for hungover reasons, Jacqui and Edward for actually getting up in the morning and doing work reasons - so we got Chinese takeaway, watched the X-Factor and collapsed into bed at about 10.30. Very lazy! On Sunday, we had a fry-up, read the paper and had a stroll round the big Outlet Village place, before I hopped on the train back to London for flat tidying and general life organisation fun. Very nice weekend and yet I'm still exhausted come Monday morning. Definitely work stress - can't wait for the Bank Holiday week!
