Jun. 6th, 2005 12:04 pmBusy weekend yet again, but only four weeks to go until Alderney fun, woo! Saturday was spent watching George Lucas rip off Monty Python and not watching Elijah Wood have his legs eaten by a wolf. In other words, saw both Star Wars and Sin City and didn't particularly enjoy either of them. Star Wars failed in any way to elicit any feelings of tension from me, because I knew what was supposed to happen. The bad dialogue and plotting didn't particularly help. I did enjoy the R2D2 show though - they should have used him more.
Sin City was slightly better, if I was able to actually watch any of it. When I did, I was a bit bored by the stories and slightly horrified by all of the female characters, who were just there to be either protected or killed. Even the kick-ass prostitutes could only sort themselves out with the help of the (admittedly lovely) Clive Owen. It did look good, so kudos for the effects.
Then to Henry's for many drinks and a few rounds of LaniBall, which definitely improves the more alcohol is consumed. Sunday was spent delicately avoiding my hangover by having lunch with Cerys and sorting out the next round of BUDC fun and then working on various things at home for 6 hours. Quite enjoyed Dr Who, particularly the tongue in cheek "Bad Wolf? Nah, it's just a coincidence!" stuff. (Slightly ruined by the launch of the Bad Wolf website, I feel.) Looking forward to next weeks.
I think the mix CD thing has run its course this go round and it was a success, as far as I can tell. If anyone wants to take part in the next go, please comment. This time, we should have a theme, so leave any suggestions as well.
