Much to update on - I can't actually believe I had a weekend, as I seemed to have missed out the bit where I sit on my sofa for a couple of hours and do nothing but watch telly. I ran around to many places on Saturday and Sunday, but all for fun, so the current dazed feeling I have was worth it.

Friday night was spent watching Olivia and her work people prance around on stage in the name of charity. It was lots of fun, perhaps because of alcohol consumption, but who can say? My favourite part: Rick realises that the plot-unrelated dragon has turned up to the fancy dress ball and shouts out in an incredulous tone "The dragon's dressed as a rabbit!" Second favourite part: Said dragon finds CInderella's glass slipper and wanders what to do with it. Cue Darien, "Eat it!"

Up reasonably early on Saturday (hah!) to make my way to Oxford, after a small detour through Victoria train station, which isn't as near to the bus station as I thought. Met up with Jacqui and Edward and had a lovely time. Jacqui and I had dinner at Branca, a very nice Italian place, followed by pudding at the fabled G & D's. A word of warning - if Jacqui approaches you with some ice cream and tells you to try it without saying what it is, run away. We were lucky enough to be present for the world premiere of port and blue cheese ice cream, which is disgusting. Then, back to the flat for real port and singing and the Hatching of the Grand Plan, which will bring all kinds of merriment to the world.

It was so nice to be away from London in a very domestic setting. Sunday morning was spent eating toast, while Jacqui sewed up a hole in my coat and Edward made marmalade in the kitchen. Bliss. I managed to walk away with half the contents of the flat (including Game Cube!) Note to self: Visit Oxford more often.

Back to London for games fun and drawing fun, the definitive description of which can be found in the journals of [livejournal.com profile] hatmandu and [livejournal.com profile] boingley. My favourite part of the picture game was how "Rick takes Manhattan" remained "Rick takes Manhattan" though only three of us had actually seen the picture!

Though yesterday was a bleurghy Monday, managed to have lots and lots of fun. Finally got my hair cut at Jigami, thanks to the recommendation of [livejournal.com profile] abinsthecity. Was a lovely place and Scott, my stylist, got exactly what I wanted and took great care over it. It's slightly shorter than I wanted, but will grow out pretty quickly. Then, after a small diversion the wrong way down Shaftesbury Avenue, met up with [livejournal.com profile] felinitykat in the Covent Garden Henry's, which was lovely. We had lots of cocktails and gossiped and chatted and I had a really good time. Kat is great - it wasn't awkward at all and we managed to talk about all the important subjects under the sun. (These are, in no particular order: the TV adaption of Pride and Prejudice, the greatness of LiveJournal, tequila, boys.) Definitely something to be repeated!

And now I'm all up to date and it's Tuesday. A busy week ahead, what with birthday shenanigans and more fun. As I've said many times, I love living in London.
